1. About LEMOON
LEMOON is a platform to read, discover, and publish webtoons and webcomics. Readers can discover original stories from independent Creators around the world, while Creators can publish their own series, grow an audience, connect with Readers, and monetize their work.
LEMOON is for anyone who loves webtoons, comics, and manga, as well as Creators looking for a place to publish their stories. Whether you're searching for your next favorite webtoon or want to share one of your own, LEMOON brings Readers and Creators together around original stories.
Yes. Creating an Account, publishing a webtoon, and reading content on LEMOON are free. Some Creators may choose to make certain episodes Paid Content, which Readers can unlock using Lemoon Coins.
Yes. LEMOON is an open publishing platform, so you don't need to be selected or approved as a professional Creator before you can publish your webtoon. You must have the rights to the Content you publish and follow LEMOON's Terms of Service and Content & Community Guidelines.
Our mission is to build a better home for webtoon Creators and Readers: a place where publishing is accessible, Creators stay in control of their work, human creativity is valued, and great stories have the opportunity to find an audience.
LEMOON is built around Creator freedom and human creativity. Creators keep the rights to their work, publishing is non-exclusive, and independent Creators can publish, grow an audience, connect with Readers, and monetize their webtoons without giving up control of their creations.
Yes. LEMOON is built for a global community of webtoon Readers and Creators and is available on the web and through our iOS and Android apps. Some features, purchases, or Content may vary depending on your country or platform.
You must be at least 13 years old, or meet any higher minimum age required in your country, to use LEMOON. Additional age restrictions may apply to certain Content or features.
2. Publishing & Creator Rights
Yes. Your work remains yours. LEMOON does not claim ownership of the webtoons, comics, artwork, characters, or stories you publish. You keep the copyright and other intellectual property rights you already hold in your work.
No. Publishing on LEMOON is non-exclusive. You remain free to publish, distribute, sell, license, or monetize your work elsewhere while also making it available on LEMOON.
Yes. You can publish and monetize your webtoon, manga, or comic through other services, your own channels, in print, or anywhere else you choose. Publishing or monetizing on LEMOON does not restrict what you can do with your work elsewhere.
Yes. You decide how you distribute and monetize your work outside LEMOON. A series can be available for free somewhere else while some of its Content is monetized on LEMOON, and vice versa.
No. Publishing on LEMOON does not transfer ownership of your characters, story, artwork, or other creative work to us. You grant LEMOON only the limited rights needed to host, display, distribute, and promote your Content through LEMOON.
Not without your agreement. The license you give LEMOON to operate the platform does not allow us to independently sell your work, license it to a publisher or studio, or create adaptations, merchandise, print editions, or other derivative works. Any opportunity like this would require a separate agreement with you.
Yes. You can remove your Creator Content from LEMOON at any time. Once removed, LEMOON will stop using it for new purposes, although previously published promotional materials may remain where removing them is not reasonably practical.
Yes, as long as you have the rights and permissions needed to publish the work on behalf of everyone involved. If a webtoon has multiple Creators or rights holders, you are responsible for making sure you are authorized to publish it on LEMOON.
Yes, provided you have the necessary rights or permission from the rights holder to publish it. You should only upload comics, artwork, or other Content that you own or are legally authorized to use. Unauthorized reposts or copies are not allowed.
Yes, you can share relevant external links in places where LEMOON supports them. Links and promotion must follow our Content & Community Guidelines: spam, deceptive links, unrelated advertising, and excessive or disruptive promotion are not allowed.
3. AI, Content & Mature Stories
No. Content created through generative AI is not allowed on LEMOON. LEMOON is built for human creativity, and AI-generated Content is subject to removal.
We believe art and creative expression should come from people. LEMOON exists to support human creativity and give original work a place to be discovered, shared, and supported. That's why Content created through generative AI is not allowed on LEMOON.
LEMOON welcomes webtoons and comics for different audiences, including stories that explore mature, explicit, or sensitive themes. Mature Content can include adult sexual themes, graphic violence, strong language, and other themes intended for mature audiences, as long as the Content is correctly labelled and follows our rules.
Some Content is prohibited regardless of its Mature rating. For the complete rules, see our Content & Community Guidelines.
Creators can mark either an entire series or individual episodes as Mature. This gives Creators flexibility to accurately label their webtoon based on where Mature Content appears, without having to mark an entire series Mature because of only a few episodes.
If Mature Content is recurring or central to your webtoon, mark the entire series as Mature. If your series is generally suitable for a wider audience but only some episodes contain Mature Content, keep the series non-Mature and mark those individual episodes as Mature instead.
No. The Mature label allows Creators to publish stories intended for mature audiences, but it does not override LEMOON's Content rules. Content that is prohibited on LEMOON remains prohibited regardless of how a series or episode is labelled.
LEMOON does not allow Content that violates our rules or applicable law. This includes sexual exploitation or abuse of minors, non-consensual sexual exploitation of real people, Content that promotes serious illegal activity or exploitation, copyright infringement, and Content that promotes hatred, serious harm, or abuse.
For the complete rules, see our Content & Community Guidelines.
4. Creator Monetization
Yes. LEMOON offers monetization options that allow eligible Creators to earn from their webtoons and comics. Monetization is optional, and participating does not change your ownership of your work or prevent you from publishing and monetizing elsewhere.
Creators can participate in monetization when they meet the requirements of the relevant monetization Program. You must also own or have the necessary rights to monetize your Content, comply with LEMOON's Terms and Content & Community Guidelines, and provide any information required to participate or receive payouts.
Different monetization Programs may have their own eligibility requirements.
For the Paid Content Program, a series becomes eligible once it has at least 5 published episodes. The Creator and series must also meet LEMOON's general monetization requirements.
Eligibility requirements may evolve as LEMOON's monetization Programs develop.
Once your series is eligible, you can request or enable monetization using the option made available by LEMOON. After the Paid Content Program is enabled for your series, you can choose which eligible episodes you want to monetize.
The Paid Content Program lets eligible Creators choose episodes or other eligible Content that Readers must unlock to access. It gives Creators a way to monetize their webtoon while continuing to publish free Content alongside it.
Creators earn a share of the Net Revenue generated through their Paid Content. We explain the current revenue share in the Revenue & Payouts section below.
No. You choose which eligible episodes you want to make Paid Content. Monetizing a series does not require putting every episode behind a paid unlock.
Yes. Free and Paid Content can exist within the same series. You can continue offering free episodes while choosing other eligible episodes to monetize through the Paid Content Program.
5. Revenue & Payouts
Revenue sharing depends on the monetization Program. For the current Paid Content Program, Creators receive 70% of Net Revenue generated by their Paid Content, while LEMOON retains 30%. Other monetization Programs may use different revenue-sharing models.
For Paid Content, a Creator receives 70% of the applicable Net Revenue generated by the unlock. Net Revenue is calculated after applicable third-party fees and deductions, including fees charged by platforms and payment providers such as the Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe, or PayPal, as well as refunds and chargebacks.
Net Revenue is the amount LEMOON actually receives from a transaction after applicable third-party platform and payment-processing fees, such as fees charged by the Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe, or PayPal, as well as refunds, chargebacks, and other required transaction deductions. The Creator's revenue share for Paid Content is calculated from this amount.
Creators can view their monetization earnings and balance from the LEMOON Creator Dashboard. Some earnings may initially be provisional and can be adjusted before they become eligible for payout.
An earnings balance can change when a transaction is refunded, charged back, reversed, found to be invalid, or otherwise adjusted before payout. This helps ensure that Creator payouts reflect valid, completed transactions.
If a transaction that generated Creator earnings is later refunded, charged back, reversed, or invalidated, the related earnings can be deducted or adjusted. If necessary, the adjustment may be applied against future earnings.
You can request a payout once your eligible earnings reach the current minimum payout threshold and any required payout information or verification has been completed.
The current minimum payout threshold is $200 USD in eligible earnings. Earnings below the threshold remain in your balance until you become eligible to request a payout.
LEMOON currently supports common payout methods such as Stripe and PayPal. Availability may vary depending on your country and the payout options supported by each provider.
There can also be fees when earnings are paid out to a Creator. Stripe, PayPal, or other payout providers may charge transfer, processing, or currency-conversion fees depending on the payout method and country. Unless stated otherwise, these payout-provider fees are the Creator's responsibility.
Creators are responsible for understanding, reporting, and paying any taxes or other obligations that apply to their earnings. LEMOON may also request tax or identity information when required to process payouts or comply with applicable law.
6. Lemoon Coins & Paid Content
Lemoon Coins are the currency used on LEMOON to unlock paid webtoon episodes. You can buy Coins on LEMOON and use them whenever you want to support Creators and access their Paid Content.
You can buy Lemoon Coins directly through LEMOON. Depending on where you're using LEMOON, your purchase may be handled through the Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe, or PayPal.
Coins are mainly used to unlock paid webtoon episodes on LEMOON. You'll always see how many Coins an episode costs before unlocking it.
When a Creator makes an episode paid, you'll see its Coin price before opening it. If you choose to unlock the episode, the Coins are deducted from your balance and you can start reading it immediately.
A paid episode currently costs 30 Lemoon Coins. You'll always see the price before confirming an unlock.
Yes. Once you unlock a paid episode with Lemoon Coins, it stays unlocked on your Account, so you can come back and read it again without paying for it a second time.
No. Lemoon Coins belong to the Account that received or purchased them and can't currently be transferred or sent to another User.
No. Lemoon Coins are made to be used on LEMOON and can't be exchanged or withdrawn for real money.
Creator earnings work separately through LEMOON's monetization Programs.
If you bought Coins but don't see them in your balance, or an episode you unlocked isn't accessible, contact LEMOON Support and we'll help you resolve the issue.
7. Safety, Copyright & Privacy
Your work stays yours. LEMOON does not take ownership of the webtoons, characters, stories, or artwork you publish, and we don't independently license, sell, or adapt your work for third parties without a separate agreement with you.
We also don't allow Users to copy, repost, or publish someone else's work without permission. If your work is uploaded on LEMOON without your authorization, you can report it through our copyright process. We can remove or restrict infringing Content and take action against Accounts that repeatedly violate other Creators' rights.
Like any platform where Content is publicly available, we can't guarantee that someone outside LEMOON will never copy or misuse your work. What we can do is make your rights clear, avoid taking rights we don't need, prohibit unauthorized use on LEMOON, and give you a clear way to act when infringement happens.
If someone has uploaded or reposted your webtoon, artwork, or other work on LEMOON without your permission, you can report it to us at [email protected]
We'll ask for enough information to identify your original work and the Content you're reporting so we can review the situation.
You can use LEMOON's reporting tools when you see Content or behavior that you believe breaks our rules. This can include webtoons, episodes, comments, profiles, harassment, spam, or other community activity.
For copyright issues, use our dedicated copyright process instead.
We review the reported Content or behavior and its context before deciding whether action is needed. Reporting something does not automatically mean it will be removed or that an Account will be restricted.
Depending on the situation, we may change a Mature rating, limit visibility, remove Content, warn a User, restrict features, or suspend an Account.
Yes. Content published on LEMOON must follow our Content & Community Guidelines. When Content breaks those rules, we can remove it, limit who can see it, adjust its Mature rating, or take action on the Account when appropriate.
No. LEMOON does not sell your personal information. We only use and share information as needed to operate LEMOON, provide our services, keep the platform secure, and work with the services that help power LEMOON.
You can permanently delete your Account through LEMOON's Account settings. Once your Account is deleted, it cannot be restored.
When you delete your Account, your profile, reading history, and saved comics are removed. If you're a Creator, your published webtoons, episodes, and drafts are also deleted, along with your Creator Profile.
Make sure you keep your own copies of anything you want to preserve before deleting your Account.
